Women's Beginner Clubs

Postby Kyle on Fri May 08, 2009 1:55 pm

We have a ton of Women's Clubs on the site no doubt, and in a potentially shrewd and/or disastrous move I'm urging my fiance to get some clubs and hit the course with me. My main dilemma is trying to calculate a)How much we should spend on a full set, and b)What set offers the best mix of value and performance. Any insight from women golfers or dudes who play with their other-half would be quite helpful.

Would love to help, farthest I've gotten is taking the wife to the driving range where about 20 minutes in she decided she was sticking to tennis haha.

Kyle,

I have a fiance as well who has golfed in the past. She has not wanted to pick the game back up but if she did, I would probably be looking somewhere in the Tartan/Precise range of clubs for her.

If she was going to play more often I would be thinking Adams, but I know that if she wanted to play, it would be a fleeting desire.

I hope not to be late with the response.
I was drag by my fiance last year to get into golf. I research some golf sets for women, and I ended up buying the "wilson prostaff". I also took some lesson and my teacher told me it was a good beginer set for women. I love my golf set. For beginers it is quite forgiving and they are nice and light. I wasn't sure if I would like golfing, so for $200 i got a pretty good set. I think you shouldn't spent more than $300 specially if you don´t know if she is going to like it or not.

Well I am not sure its still an option with clubs, but here it goes!
I am a female, that has just began playing golf! I am an exception to the rule, with just beginning and being good......going from a 100+ score to an 80 in one season.
I began the season with a set of square 2 clubs that my husband got from our golf pro that he did some work for. So it was no money out of our pocket. I would think maybe $200 at the most. After spending 8 hours a day on golfing and on the range the spring and first part of the summer...I managed to break my driver like a can..looked like a can opener attacked it!
Now I have more money in a set of clubs then most men do :)

But honestly $200 is fine for a starter set, or even a used set. Some clubs have loaner sets as well. Hope she learns the game, because its the best game ever!
