Adams Speedline 9032LS Review

August 6th, 2009

speedline_bannerIn the spirit of full disclosure, this is something of a biased review. My complaints with the new Adams Speedline 9032LS are negligible, so much that I recently purchased it for myself. I bought it. It’s in my bag and I’m devoted to it. If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should own this club, I am here to push you in the back and drag you over to the side that reads Yes in big bold letters, outlined in Speedline green and yellow. I think that about takes care of our disclaimer.

This is golf. Not a rock concert.

April 17th, 2009

For my inaugural post, I thought I’d bring to attention the sleek stylings of the new Adam’s Idea Pro Black Irons. Give those beauties a quick once over and tell me you don’t want them in your bag, immediately. The shafts are Black Steel for crying out loud. As someone who is more aesthetically inclined towards the darker shade, these sticks have me wishing I was good enough to hit them. An investigation of Adam’s Product Page reveals to me that they’re “designed for the skilled player,” so, alas, count this par celebrator out. Unfortunately, the red line on the accompanying Forgiveness Chart doesn’t quite reach far enough for me to even dream about solid contact. However, these Hi Res Images have me thinking that with enough practice, I might be able to play my way up. For me, these clubs represent reason number four-thousand-and-eighty-seven why I should make myself a better golfer, and for you Skilled Players out there who can utilize the Pro Black’s “Tour Quality” features; if they play half as a well as they look, then I’m jealous twice over.

Golf technology isn’t dead quite yet

The USGA & The R & A have had their hands full the last 10-15 years in regards to all the rules and regulations they have had to implement due to the increasing innovation by golf club manufacturers. What would golf be like without regulations? 600cc sized driver? Electronic Caddyshack putters that guarantee a one put on every hole? Let’s face it, restrictions are necessary. But does tighter restrictions on club design and technology limit a companies product development? Read more…

Clubs That are not Yours

December 11th, 2008

I went back home to visit the family recently and was lucky enough to get a couple of wonderful Fall days to hit the links with Dad. We went to the course I grew up playing and had a great time searching through the trees I used to search through when I was young. It was a real pleasure to be there again on a course that I love dearly with the man that introduced me to this silly game…Thanks Dad! Read more…

What do I do with old golf clubs?

December 11th, 2008

“How many clubs can you play with?” Picture this voice coming from my beautiful bride. The one I cherish more than any on this Earth. She pretty much controls all that I do and oversees my whole existence to keep me afloat. So you can imagine my shock when she asked me this question. She knows the answer is 14. But the tone told me the story. Read more…

When do I change clubs?

December 11th, 2008

Changing the neighborhood

I had just shot an 87. I was miserable. My buddy Brad had just beat me senseless, which is the case most times, but this one was different. Usually I can hang with him and this time it was over before it began.

The next day I went out by myself and ripped off an 85. Now I knew something was horribly wrong. 3 days later an 84. Over the weekend, 2 more scores over 85. It reached catastrophic levels now. I called for help. Read more…

Torque is for mechanics?

I will probably get some flak for this statement, but the most overused and least known term in golf equipment today is torque. Before you fill the comment section with cries for my head or my position, let me explain. Read more…

Right handed…..or wrong handed?

December 11th, 2008

While the presidential election draws near, everybody seems to be worrying about being left out of the equation. Plumber Joe can’t cultivate his business. The rich don’t want to be taxed. The poor don’t want to be forgotten. All this talk has inspired me to finally speak out for the golf industry’s most slighted victim……the lefty. Read more…
