When buying new equipment, we all approach our purchase from one of many starting points. Some of us start with a certain price range in mind, some have a particular loyalty to their favorite brand. Others start their search based on reviews and word of mouth; and some are simply drawn in by the way a club looks. You can count me as one of the superficial who covet the look of a golf club first and foremost.

Of course, other things matter a great deal. Performance, feel, value; all wonderful things that should be weighed and considered. But odds are I’m not even taking a club off the rack if my eye doesn’t agree with what I’m looking at. I’m one of those weirdos whose brains don’t jive with their hands if their eyes don’t like what they see. I will physically swing a club I consider to be ugly or awkward in an ugly and awkward way. And to be honest, if I’m going to drop a bill on a wedge, or many bills on a set of irons, I want to look at those shiny golf ball hitting sticks in my bag and feel excited that I own them. I want my clubs to be the prettiest girl at the dance.

To my eye, the prettiest tools are the cleanest tools. I’m strange that way. I constantly wipe down counter-tops, I organize my books, CD’s, and DVD’s in alphabetical order, I enjoy sweeping, and I like my golf clubs to be clean and simple. Below, we will examine a group of irons and wedges that I consider to be properly clean and properly simple, and in some cases, outright works of art. Golf clubs that feature gratuitous name branding, logos, or flashy badges need not apply.

Bridgestone: A sleeper iron amongst online golf nerds and scratch golfers alike, the J36′s offer a clean look three different ways. The Pocket Cavities offer forgiveness without being bulky, I find the Cavity Backs to be the best looking of the group, and the Combo Set allows you the best of all worlds, a sampling of the PC’s, CB’s and even a couple blades. Replace the blue paint fill with black, or remove it all together for an even cleaner look.

Titleist: A longtime producer of very traditional and classic golf clubs, Titleist delivers on a number of current models as well. The brand new CB and MB irons are both about as clean as you can get, while the Z Blends are no slouches themselves.

Mizuno: With few exceptions, the Mizuno line of irons and wedges consistently offers some of the most aesthetically pleasing golf clubs you can find. If you’re in the market for a new set of MX irons but find yourself turned off by the colors and stickers found on the cavities, I have it on good authority that these stickers are purely cosmetic, and can be removed from both the MX-200 and MX-300 irons. You’re just a few dabs of Goo Gone and elbow grease away from a purely custom and clean set of irons.

TaylorMade: I have to give credit where credit is due and include the new R9 and R9 TP irons on this list. Known more for a modern aesthetic and brand heavy presentation, there’s no denying TaylorMade has gone for a more traditionally simplistic look with their new line of irons.

Nike: Another company that typically offers up more flash than others, Nike has turned clean with their Victory Red Wedges. Both the chrome and black finishes are solid options, but I’m going to give my own personal nod to the black version because it’s my lack of color of choice.

Cleveland: While logos, colors, inserts and technology abound when it comes to their iron sets, Cleveland has no problem going classic when it comes to wedges. Both the CG12 and brand new CG15 lines don’t mess about when it comes to traditional looks. And while minor points can be deducted for the “Zip Grooves” stamping, we’re not here to argue considering all the choices available when it comes to finish, loft, and bounce.

Keeping it Clean on a Budget: Just to prove that us neat freaks don’t have to spend more to love how our clubs look, both Adams and Wilson present killer wedges at more than reasonable prices. You can snag three classic wedges for the price of one if you fancy the Tom Watson Wedge Set, while the Wilson Harmonized wedges are available in both chrome and black.

Cue the music.

Strange things were happening at the conclusion of yesterday’s tour championship. Tiger Woods, number one in the world, finished second place for the tournament, first place in Fed-Ex cup standings, and got a big trophy. Phil Mickelson finished first for the tournament, reclaimed his number two world golf ranking, and ended his season second in Fed-Ex cup points. He was awarded a somewhat less substantial trophy. If it sounds confusing it’s because it is. And we’re not the only ones left scratching our heads.

Many of the professional golfers playing on Sunday didn’t have the slightest clue where they stood in this crazy Fed-Ex Cup race, and throughout the final round, perplexing scenarios were put on the screen, outlining who needed to win, who needed to not win, and where everyone else needed to end up in order to achieve any given champion. Complicating matters further, when all the confusion was straightened out and the last putt fell, the obvious champion was crowned and the Fed-Ex Cup was labeled a success. Raise your hand if you were able to follow any of that.

Fed-Ex Cup aside for a moment, Sunday’s round of golf was an extremely interesting one. The Tiger Woods Grind Show continued as he scraped his way around the golf course, trying to legitimize what has already been an objectively dominant season. The curse of being the best, however, is a certain lack of objectivity when your greatness is being discussed. Tiger gets my vote for Comeback Player of the Year and Player of the Year. And as not to defy the confusion theme we have going, he also gets my vote for most disappointing season. It’s slightly frightening, but he really is that good.

Oh yeah, Phil Mickelson was playing golf yesterday, too. He even won. The return of Phil Mickelson to golf course glory is something even the most ardent of Phil haters need to tip their cap at. Given the struggles that Phil and his family have had to endure this season, it’s a marvel the guy can even grip a club properly, yet alone dissect a championship golf course the way he did on Sunday. Here’s hoping that next year hitting a golf ball around is the biggest of Phil’s challenges.

There were other great golfers as well, and palpable tension. Kenny Perry fell short once again as some chunky chip shots and deteriorating putting placed him well outside of contention after starting the day in the final group. The short game master Steve Stricker saw things get away from him after a mud-ball on 16 failed to find the green. And Sean O’Hair, admittedly feeling nerves on the home-stretch, faded away quickly to close out a very solid season of golf.

To the Fed-Ex Cup’s credit, any format that can get the knees of the world’s best shaking a bit is probably doing something right, and when the two most popular golfers of the modern age find themselves battling on a Sunday, it’s hard to argue with results. No matter how confusing it was getting there.

Here’s quick look at the equipment Tiger and Phil used on their way to victories Sunday. No scoring system involved.

Ryan Moore goes his own way. Or dances to the beat of a different drum. Or whatever other metaphor you’d like to use when describing a professional golfer who doesn’t have any equipment sponsors and who buys all of his clothes with his own money from thift stores and Urban Outfitters. There’s no denying that Moore is a different breed, but is it possible that his anti-establishment proclivities may be setting the stage for a change in the professional golfing landscape?

After being plagued by wrist problems and inconsistent play for most of 2008, Moore entered the 2009 season without a single sponsor. Looking for a more simple and pure approach to the game, Moore decided to forgo the distractions, rules, and pressures that come along with major sponsorships. This decision also allowed him to wear whatever clothes he wanted on the course, free of logo’s, brands, and ad space. As is evidenced by the above pictures and many others circulating the internet, the former Seattle/Tacoma prodigy and UNLV amateur legend has, let us say, an interesting style. Ill-fitting shirts, ridiculous train conductor hats, and skateboard style shoes are just some of the unique numbers Moore has been known to showcase on the links. While a rather compelling argument can be made that Moore at times looks quite, uh, very silly, you’d be hard pressed to critique his individuality and intestinal fortitude (and mark me down as someone who digs the golf bag). In comparison to other players out there, who look more like Nascar racers than professional golfers; or others, who sport dyed hair, polo’s featuring sunsets, and aboniations such as these (do you think we can get another Daly jab in here somewhere? I think we can!), is Ryan Moore really that outlandish? Shouldn’t we be praising him for sticking to his guns and being his own person, no matter our own personal tastes? My vote is yes.

Strange clothing aside, the more intriguing and awesome aspect of Ryan’s decision is that he gets to play whatever equipment he wants. No contracts, no advertising, no pressure from major companies. He just plays equipment he has personally tested and trusts to perform. About his new approach, Moore says: “I pick a club now because I want to play it, not because I have to use a club because of a deal I have, and then I have to make the club work for me … There’s a better confidence and comfort level this way.” Isn’t this the way that 99% of the golfing population functions? Us normal hackers only wish we were so lucky to have a large manufacturer signing our paychecks and throwing free gear our way, but the fact of the matter is that we make equipment decisions on our own, and chose clubs that fit our game best. Ryan Moore has chosen to forgo the pay-day and join the rest of us, and as of late, it’s hard to argue with the results. When he won the Wyndham Championship, it was with a mix-match bag of clubs: The Adams Speedline 9032LS driver (the man must have good taste), an Adams Speedline 9032 Ti 3-Wood, two Adams Idea Pro Gold hybrids, Ping S59 irons, a Ping Tour sand wedge and Titleist Vokey lob wedge (say what? mixing wedges?), and a Titleist Scotty Cameron putter. To confuse brands even more he played a Callaway Tour i golf ball and wore a Callaway golf glove. His shoes? Some kind of Puma’s (golf issue or normal shoes infused with spikes is hard to tell, as he’s rocked both from time to time). After the result he was able to achieve, is there any doubt that Ryan Moore had all his gear dialed in to fit his game perfectly? And how strong of an endorsement is it to the above equipment that an elite professional golfer chose each club personally without his hand being forced and without a paycheck to influence him?

After watching the walking billboard for Adidas and Taylormade that was Sergio Garcia struggle through yet another Sunday just a few groups back of Moore, I couldn’t help but wonder how The Surge might do were he to break away from the all TaylorMade mold. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a world class golfer and I’m sure he’s forgotten more about golf equipment than I will ever know, but what if there’s a Cobra driver out there that suits his swing just a fraction bit more than his current stick? What if he gets a better roll from an Odyssey putter? This is all pure speculation, but I think the Ryan Moore model raises an interesting question: What if professionals were able to mix and match like the rest of us? If I play a Titleist driver, I don’t have a piece of paper telling me I have to follow suit and game the AP2′s or else I’m in real big trouble, I’m free to test out any other brand of iron and choose for myself. Would other professionals benefit from this same strategy and freedom? I don’t think we can argue that it’s worked out splendidly for our boy Ryan Moore. And as long as he doens’t start rocking the Daly pants (ha! you thought I forgot, didn’t you?), and as long as he’s able to fend of the many offers that are no doubt incoming, I’d like to tip my normally shaped hat his way and wish him godspeed on his non-conformist quest.

In the spirit of full disclosure, this is something of a biased review. My complaints with the new Adams Speedline 9032LS are negligible, so much that I recently purchased it for myself. I bought it. It’s in my bag and I’m devoted to it. If you’re on the fence about whether or not you should own this club, I am here to push you in the back and drag you over to the side that reads Yes in big bold letters, outlined in Speedline green and yellow. I think that about takes care of our disclaimer.

Where to begin? I guess it makes most sense to start with what Adams is saying about their newest driver offering. By now, you’ve probably seen the original Speedline and heard about it’s main features. Things like aerodynanic shaping, heel and toe scoops for increased swing speed and distance, gold medal technology that compelled Golf Digest to say in their 2009 Hot List “There is a sense that Adams has discovered something others have overlooked.” The 9032 has taken these features and utilized them to the next level.

The heel and toe scoops in the 9032 are 1.5x deeper than the original Speedline, resulting in more stable air movement throughout the clubhead as you swing and take advantage of 3-4 miles per hour more swing speed. As far as face area goes, the 9032 one-ups the original once again, clocking in at 17.3% deeper and longer. Taking inspiration from the mystical tour prototype 9015d, the 9032 has borrowed this hallowed high ball speed and low spin technology (note the LS in the drivers name), bringing a 10% reduction in spin off the clubface to the general public in a much more accessible fashion, and with Speedline technology. The lower spin the 9032 brings to the table can offer golfers more carry distance, a more penetrating ball flight and less side spin coaxing your ball off line. Add all this together with the increased swing speed and increased face area we’ve already talked about, and I suggest you start practicing your short irons more often, because this thing bombs. Prepare to see the green more clearly from the fairway from now on.

Not to be overlooked is the Aldila Voodoo NV shaft that comes stock with the new Speedline. Don’t waste your time googling this one, because it’s only available in the 9032 through a special launch partnership between Adams and Aldila. This isn’t a mass produced “made-for” shaft. It’s the real deal, Tour spec, have to have a connection in the business or be a professional Ebay stalker to get your hands on one shaft. Nowhere on it will you see any mention of the Adams brand whatsoever, it’s a legit Voodoo from top to tip. In the looks department, the shaft completely delivers on what my expectation is when regarding tour issue equipment: a whole lot cooler looking than what normal golfers are stuck with. Lucky for us, Aldila has stamped it with complementary Speedine colors and given 9032 users the first public crack at this badboy. As far as performance goes, the Voodoo is just as magically evil as its name suggests: Providing consistent, smooth, pure feeling tour caliber execution. When this thing finally does hit the shelf for mass golf-geek consumption, it’s price tag will flirt with that of the 9032 as a whole.

When it comes to golf equipment, I’m not a big numbers guy. I can’t offer you a whole bunch of launch monitor statistics or super in-depth technical specifications. I swing fast enough to warrant a stiff shaft, and that’s about the extent of my number crunching when it comes to considering a new driver. What I can tell you is I took into account quite a few options when making my selection. I hit a handful of promising prospects and the 9032 was the winner for a number of reasons. At first glance, the most striking feature of the club is simply its straight up good looks. An extemely refreshing and traditional head shape from the top view, this beauty is good for what ails you if you suffer from square-back driver overload. For those of you who can’t handle the open face of the 9015d or Speedline Classic but are looking for very similar performance and technology, you have found your club. This sucker sits square at address, and can be easily rocked open for a fade whenever neccessary. Measuread at 460cc, it gives the impression of being more compact than that, providing a less bulky and more confidence inspiring profile with a traditionalist sensibility. Not that this is your grandpappies persimmon wood. The 9032 still brings a lot of modern swagger to the table underneath its traditional veneer, enhancing and improving on the scoops and graphics of the original Speedline. Mixing the black sole enhanced with green and yellow grid patters with the aforementioned matching Voodoo was almost enough to win me over on the spot. And thas was before I even hit the thing.

In hand, the 9032 may feel a gram or two heavier than its modern counterparts, but this concern flies quickly out the window after your first swing. Like I said, I don’t know numbers, but I could both feel and hear the increase in swing speed generated by this club. Not only does it cut through the air on your downswing with ease, you can hear the whoosh of the aerodynamic scoops and headshape technology as you unload. The sound made at impact is muffled and sounds sort of like the crack of a baseball bat connecting with a fastball. A sound I prefer a great deal to the high pitched ping of some drivers, or the making contact with an empty trash can crash of others. The contact off the face feels solid and responsive, you can actually feel the ball react to your swing. There’s not hollow disconnect with the 9032 like you may have experienced with other large-headed drivers. Did I mention that the 9032 crushes? It does. The ball flies off the face at a very penetrating mid-high trajectory and does not come down for quite a while. Even mishits managed to reach more than respectable distance. The low spin head of the 9032 carries the ball for ages, and with a lack of backspin upon landing, the ball releases and rolls quite a bit as well. Another benefit of the LS aspect of this club? Less side spin and more forgiveness. The 9032 maxes out on forgiveness according to Adam’s fancy little graph, and as an occasional slicer, I can attest that my bad swings started right and then held, landing somewhere playable as opposed to lost forever as I had come to expect with my previous driver.

To sum it up neatly: The 9032 excells in all categories. It delivers in looks, feel, sound and performance. Not to mention its tour caliber stock shaft and technologially perfected head-shape and design. If you’re somehow still clinging to that fence, hitting is believing. Climb on down from your perch and take this thing for a test drive. And if you do, I suggest preparing for the overwhelming possibily of seeing a Speedline headcover sticking out of your bag in the near future.

Here at GolfDiscount.com, we seem to have covered the sentimental and emotional side of this years British Open pretty extensively. And before I break down and cry thinking of what might have been, I’d like to stop and give credit to the man who actually made the big putts when it mattered, a deserving champion and new owner of the Claret Jug, Stewart Cink. I’d also like to talk about his golf clubs.

Quickly, lest we get distracted yet again, Tom Watson made his run at history with the following hardware: Driver – Adams Speedline; Hybrid – Adams Idea Pro; Irons – Adams Idea Pro; Wedges – Adams Puglielli and Tom Watson; Putter – Odyssey White Hot XG #7; and Ball – Titleist ProV1.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, we can go back to the business of forgetting Watson’s loss and focusing more on Cink’s win. For those of you keeping score at home, Cink’s victory marks the second major win in a row for a Nike player (the fact that neither of these players is named Tiger Woods only makes things more impressive, or more unbelievable, or both). Starting with the big stick, Cink tee’d up a Nike SQ Sumo 2 Tour to go along with his Sumo Fairway Wood. Playing cavity backs in his 3 and 4 irons, Stewart switches to the Nike CCI Forged Irons in 5 through PW for more feel, playability and precision. Cink plays a flatstick from Yes! (the Lizzy) and could be seen sporting a Nike Tour Perforated Cap as he celebrated the first major victory of his career.

To hear about the whole set-up from the man himself, check this out. I would recommend paying special attention to Stewart’s awesome ball marker choices.

There’s no doubt whatsoever that he would beat me at golf head-to-head 1,000 out of 1,000 times, but Tiger Woods as a casual sports fan has always kind of puzzled me a bit. He very well may be the greatest athlete of his generation, and yet, he seems so clueless and/or apathetic about the other major sports out there.

I mean, playing golf with Tony Romo in the heart of Redskins country? Couldn’t he have shown a little D.C sports tact and made plans with Tony for some other time? Perhaps teeing it up with Jason Campbell would have been more of a crowd pleaser?

Transitioning quickly, this minor oversight pales in comparison to the flip-flopping Tiger was up to at this years NBA Finals. When prompted, here’s what he had to say about the Lakers/Magic match-up that was about to take place:

I grew up a die-hard Los Angeles Lakers fan but I have season tickets to Orlando Magic games. Hopefully, it will be a great series.

Exqueese me? Baking Powder? In what alternate reality does a statement such as that even begin to make one shred of sense? Somewhere, Lebron James must have taken a huge sign of relief. If you grew up a “die-hard” Lakers fan, then it only follows logically that, as an adult, you would root for… oh, I don’t know… The Los Angeles Lakers. Of course, living in Orlando is no crime (I hear there might be some kind of tax benefit to living in Florida), and owning season tickets to the local basketball team is still well within reason, but to be torn in your allegiances between that team and the local team you grew up loving as a child is unabashed sports blasphemy.

Now, I understand that there are kagillions and bagillions of dollars at stake for Eldrick when it comes to the endorsement game. It’s no secret he’s gone to the Michael Jordan University of Public Relations and Empire Building, and he has to ride the fence on just about anything lest Nike, or AT&T, or Gatorade, or Gillete, or American Express, or whoever gets mad at him and stops signing the cheks. However, I fail to see where selling out your childhood basketball team affects any of this in any way at all. Is Tiger afraid of offending the good people of Orlando? Or is he too busy thinking about green speed and ball trajectory to bother himself with anything else? Maybe he’s just used to taking the middle road, but whatever the reason may be, I think Tiger Woods the sports fan would be a whole lot more insteresting if he would just pick one team to root for in a championship, and perhaps consider the city in which he is playing before picking four-ball teammates.

Seeing as we’ve already covered what happened last week at the US Open, I’d like to change gears slightly and get into the stuff that we all get excited about around here: the tools of the trade.

Our friends at Nike must be quite proud of Lucas Glover for his major victory, as he did so sporting an entire Nike arsenal, including a prototype putter that is getting it’s fair share of love on Tour.

Glover was ranked 8th overall in Driving Distance for the week, averaging a steady 291.12 yards off the tee to go along with an average fairway accuracy of 71.43%. The big stick he was using to amass these impressive driving statistics was no other than the Sasquatch SUMO 2 Tour Driver (also available in a non-Tour model, for those of us who don’t find 1.5 degrees of open face nessecary, and who prefer a lower center of gravity for higher ball flight).

The irons Glover used to land 72.22% of his greens in regulation were the CCi Forged Irons (3-PW). Nike’s most tour inspired line also helped Glover on his way to the second most par 4 birdies of anyone in the field for the tournament.

In the short game department, the SV Tour Wedges were Glover’s weapons of choice to navigate the sometimes brutal greenside rough and myriad of bunkers found at Bethpage Black.

Glover wore the Air Zoom Elite II shoes and Tour Cap while trouncing through the rain-soaked course. And the swoosh ball Glover could be seen rolling into the cup at 18 for a two stroke victory?
Yeah. This is the guy who denied us a potential epic playoff involving David Duval and Phil Mickelson. The Clemson Tiger was able to quietly grind through an unspectacular final round of 73 to secure a two stroke victory. As seemingly boring as this conclusion to the US Open was, Glover deserves a lot of credit for outplaying the field this week.

With three fantastic story lines (Tiger’s potential first comeback to win a major; fan favorite Phil Mickelson rallying in the wake of his wife’s recent breast cancer diagnosis; David Duval rising from the ashes to reclaim professional glory) threatening to overshadow him, and his consistent accuracy failing, Glover was able to scramble all day and walk away with the victory. Did Ricky Barnes choke? Sure. Is Tiger looking at 4 under on the leaderboard and kicking himself? No doubt. Did Phil and Duval let a couple easy putts get away from them? Definitley. These things may all be true, but Glover made his pars and came though with a huge birdie when he needed it the most. Sometimes shooting a 73 on an insanely hard course in the final round of the US Open is all one needs to do.

Glover’s victory was only his second career PGA Tour Win (that number being three less than Phil’s runner ups in US Opens alone), and despite the inevitable disapointment Mickelson and Duval must be feeling right now, both of their stories are hardly diminished. Phil performed more than admirably under extraordinary circumstances, and while a victory would have had him flirting with golf immortality, the excitement and emotion he brought to Bethpage Black won’t soon be forgotten.

For David Duval, this is a huge step towards the redemption he’s been after for so many years. The former #1 golfer in the world is now #882 (a rank that we can asume will now jump up a few spots, yes?), and before this finish, his PGA Tour status was more than in question. Duval has stuggled so mightily for such a long time, that even after his runner up finish this week (and $559,830 paycheck) he will still have to earn about another quarter million dollars this season to crack the top 125 earners and retain his card, as estimated by ESPN’s Jason Sobel. At the very least Duval will be around for each of the next four majors, and if this weeks performance is any indication, we’ll be seeing him on a lot more leader boards in the weeks to come.

While most of us might have rather seen an epic playoff, or a Tiger victory, or a birdie on 18 to win the whole thing, it’s hard to deny that this rainy week in New York only disapointed when the weather halted play. Constant drama and compelling storylines dominated this week at Bethpage, and Lucas Glover (yes, Lucas Glover) is now the US Open’s deserving champion.

Appropriate narrative order notwithstanding, first things first. Did you know that GolfDiscount.com has its very own Twitter account? It’s true, our page can be found right here. By choosing to follow us on Twitter, you’ll be updated in real-time on all the activity taking place on the site. New updates, recent blog posts–and most importantly–information on all our newest gear, closeouts, and latest promotions make up the bulk of our Tweets. Here’s the part where you’d normally read a self-depcricating joke about shameless self-promotion, but I’m not gonna go there. I thought the aforementioned self-promotion was rather warranted, if not also tastefully done and quite professional.

Moving on, the golf industry as a whole seems to be diving head first into the character regulated world of Twitter. Both major companies and professional golfers (not to mention certain online equipment retailers–ok, now we’re starting to flirt with shamelessness, aren’t we? it won’t happen again) are utilizing the technology and instant connectivity to reach customers and fans like never before.

It seems that Golf, even more so than other professional sports, has a large disconnect between its major players and the fans. In the quiet on the tee, please don’t step in my line, polite handshaking world of professional golf, passive-aggressiveness and strained smiles are more the norm than big personalities. I’m not sure how many casual golf fans know about recent tour winner Sean O’Hair’s disturbingly fascinating relationship with his father, but I’m fairly confident most of us know what Terrell Owens looks like shirtless doing sit-ups in his driveway, or how he likes his popcorn, or who his quarterback was. (For the record, his quarterback in Dallas was this guy, oh, and this guy.) With that being said, professional golf is starting to make the transition into the accessible, personable, and entertaining. Having one of the greatest athletes of all time as the face of your sport certainly doesn’t hurt, but having Stewart Cink come out of his shell on Twitter can only help.

Other big golf names on Twitter include: John Daly being John Daly, awkward Celebrity Apprentice contestant Natalie Gulbis, Aussie Stuart Appleby, Morgan Pressel, and the PGA Tour itself. Equipment makers Callaway and Titleist are good for two each (offering Tour Twitters here and here), and the 2009 Players Championship has even entered the fray. The way this is going, you’ll soon be able to use Twitter to read about new golf products from the manufacturer that makes them, the players who use them, and the retailer who sells them; with everything blending into this huge Twitter mess of information that will help you better chose clubs, balls, apparel, and accessories that are best for you and your game.

If you need any more convincing that this Twitter and Golf partnership is for real, the LPGA recently encouraged its players take advantage of Twitter to better connect with fans. And as we all know, the LPGA does not mess around.

For my inaugural post, I thought I’d bring to attention the sleek stylings of the new Adam’s Idea Pro Black Irons. Give those beauties a quick once over and tell me you don’t want them in your bag, immediately. The shafts are Black Steel for crying out loud. As someone who is more aesthetically inclined towards the darker shade, these sticks have me wishing I was good enough to hit them. An investigation of Adam’s Product Page reveals to me that they’re “designed for the skilled player,” so, alas, count this par celebrator out. Unfortunately, the red line on the accompanying Forgiveness Chart doesn’t quite reach far enough for me to even dream about solid contact. However, these Hi Res Images have me thinking that with enough practice, I might be able to play my way up. For me, these clubs represent reason number four-thousand-and-eighty-seven why I should make myself a better golfer, and for you Skilled Players out there who can utilize the Pro Black’s “Tour Quality” features; if they play half as a well as they look, then I’m jealous twice over.
