The Clubs Lucas Glover Used To Win The US Open

Seeing as we’ve already covered what happened last week at the US Open, I’d like to change gears slightly and get into the stuff that we all get excited about around here: the tools of the trade.

Our friends at Nike must be quite proud of Lucas Glover for his major victory, as he did so sporting an entire Nike arsenal,  including a prototype putter that is getting it’s fair share of love on Tour.

Glover was ranked 8th overall in Driving Distance for the week, averaging a steady 291.12 yards off the tee to go along with an average fairway accuracy of 71.43%. The big stick he was using to amass these impressive driving statistics was no other than the Sasquatch SUMO 2 Tour Driver (also available in a non-Tour model, for those of us who don’t find 1.5 degrees of open face nessecary, and who prefer a lower center of gravity for higher ball flight).

The irons Glover used to land 72.22% of his greens in regulation were the CCi Forged Irons (3-PW). Nike’s most tour inspired line also helped Glover on his way to the second most par 4 birdies of anyone in the field for the tournament.

In the short game department, the SV Tour Wedges were Glover’s weapons of choice to navigate the sometimes brutal greenside rough and myriad of bunkers found at Bethpage Black.

Glover wore the Air Zoom Elite II shoes and Tour Cap while trouncing through the rain-soaked course. And the swoosh ball Glover could be seen rolling into the cup at 18 for a two stroke victory? That was the ONE Tour D.
