Monday came about as slow as any day could. There was even a few moments Sunday night where it looked like we might not be able to get out and play. Those were quickly squashed and it was set, Boulder Creek at high noon! I was on cloud nine.

We arrived a bit early and set foot on the grounds. I was right where I needed to be. My mind immediately raced to the par 5 5th. In a few short hours I would be on the tee, ready to vanquish some demons.

We teed off on the “back 9″ (there are 27 holes at Boulder Creek) and I soon realized that I would have plenty of time to warm up prior to the hole I had waited all week to play. We blasted balls off the first tee and I soon remembered why I love this course. My 250 yard driver went 312 yards on the firm ground and I was a legend for a few moments, if only in my own mind.

I went out in even and was mentally preparing myself for the 5th when my hopes were deflated. It was packed on that side of the 27 hole layout and we had to go to the 3rd nine to finish. I lost focus and BLEW UP!

I righted the ship when I made my largest bet of the trip, that I would not make another bogey from #3 on in. I lost that bet on #4 and immediately pressed to push the bet. With my best score of the week (I played awful all week) under my belt, I tapped in for par on the last and my Vegas golf was completed.

I did not get to play the one hole I was looking so forward to, but I know where the course is and I will have my day again. I had a blast and got to enjoy some good courses and, for the most part, great weather. Most of all, I got to spend time with the crew and we had a chance to laugh and taunt each other again.
